i made a jtag and im able to backup/flash the router but it seems to keep restarting when i try to go to the web gui with the linksys firmware. iv tryed to flash the cfe firmware and try to tftp dd-wrt and the power light came on but nothing else and it keeps restarting from the looks of the pings.

is it possible someone could send me the wholeflash.bin for a wrt54gs v7 with dd-wrt?

Check the CFE collection thread for one for your router: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=25971 And why would you need to erase wholeflash did you hose your CFE somehow?

Read this: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linksys_WRT54G2 and specifically the part about unbricking: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linksys_WRT54G2#Unbricking_WRT54G2

Sadly, the WRT54GS v7 is an Atheros based device and is not supported with DD-WRT: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linksys_WRT54G/GL/GS/GX#v7
Quote:
The WRT54G v7 uses an Atheros AR2317 chip, has 2MB ROM, 8MB RAM and runs VxWorks. It is not supported by DD-WRT as the WRT54G v7 isn't Broadcom based. The WRT54G v7 will probably never be supported

I guess that's good news for you then. Sorry again. Do you have a jtag cable by chance? And have you tried tftp and a 30/30/30 hard reset?

Try this with jtag:
Code:

tjtag -erase:nvram

tjtag -erase:kernel

Rarely does the CFE get ruined.
