Hi DD-WRT developers, this is my first post here although I use DD-WRT for a long time. Firs of all: thank you.
And now the BUG:
Fonera (and seems also DIR-300) has 2 bugs in the latest firmware releases:
- full load (load average 1.0 1.0 1.0 and sometime even higher)
- uPnP works just sometimes/for a while and then stops
Due to this:
- PC Wireless connection drops every hour or so
- can not trust uPnP
And I guess these 2 bugs are somehow related:
- if uPnP is on (but bugy) we have the full load bug (just wait 30 minutes and you'll see) and drops.
- if uPnP is off we do not have the full load bug. Load average is very normal this way (bellow 0.10 0.10 0.10 for only 1 PC with some http download/web browsing) and no more drops (up time of some days, no problem at all).
Just to let you know, the 2 bugs are present _no matter_:
- if p2p is used or not (with just 1 PC connected even with no browsing they happen)
- if QoS is on or not
- if Maximum Ports and TCP/UDP timeout are high or low
- if I do 30/30/30 or not
- my tests are with Wireless mode AP/WAN DHCP/DHCP server/1 PC running Windows XP
I've seem these 2 bugs in almost all v24-SP2 firmwares, even in current 09/24/09 std build 12966.
Meanwhile only possible solution is: turn uPnP off and live without it (what is a shame).
This was previous mentioned here for DIR-300:
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=54757
They mention the 05/08/09 version is 100% fine, but I can't remember...I always try to be with latest version and don't want to downgrade now to check it again.
Hope you can fix these 2 bugs as soon as possible!
