Hello to all. I have a WRT54G version 2, with a broken WAN port.
Instead of buy a new one, I wan to try if I can usan a LAN port as a WAN port, to dial pppoe into my ADSL provider.

I tried changing lan port #4 to the correct VLAN tag with the web interface (dont work) and then with this:

nvram set vlan0ports="1 2 3 5*"
nvram set vlan1ports="0 4 5"
nvram commit

but I cant succed to dial pppoe (I pluged the cable from the adsl modem to de #4 lan port).

I dont know if I can change some pppd.conf parameter or something else.

I appreciate any help.

Good question...I'm looking through the wiki and I don't see anything that has to do with substituting a LAN port for the WAN port. Take a look at the Dual WAN tutorial...mayhaps it only works with a static IP, I dunno.

You need to reboot for the new VLAN assignments to take effect.
