Client Bridge Mode: Gateway Einstellungen

Ich habe eine Client-Bridge-Mode Netzwerkstruktur:

Einstellungen am Host-Router:
Local IP: 10.0.0.20
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
DHCP-Type: DHCP Server
DHCP-Server: Enable

Einstellungen am Client-Router:
Local IP: 10.0.0.21
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 10.0.0.20
Local DNS: 10.0.0.20

Wenn ich nun über Lan meinen Arch Linux Desktop mit fester IP an den Client-Router anghänge, muss ich bei Arch Linux als Gateway die Client-Router-IP angeben, um ins Internet zu kommen. Gebe ich Arch Linux direkt die Host-Router-IP, komme ich nicht ins Internet.

Macht das Sinn? Da doch mein Host-Router letztendlich das Gateway zum Internet darstellt, warum kann ich nicht direkt über diesen gehen?
