i did a little deeper research. the so called killer feature is nothing else then some special qos rules for high priorisation. so configured clients (by mac address) get just higher qos priorisation. this is nothing special. we all know this since a long time _________________ "So you tried to use the computer and it started smoking? I’m delighted to see someone was able to install the WRT32X stock firmware on to the wrt3200 but with all due respect what’s the advantage replacing one factory firmware with another?
killer crap
Maybe it does what it says but I don’t know and have no interest in the firmware or the WRT32X itself, I’m not a gamer. That said if you look at the Linksys promo it is supposed to reduce pings by 77% so that may not always be the case. For example if someone has the ARRIS cable modem(s) with the Puma6 issue any performance gains are likely wiped out by the Puma issue. I mentioned this previously with regards to the problem itself and someone else mentioned it subsequent thread and kind of took direct aim at the WRT32X. Of course if you have a fiber connection or a modem without the Puma problem it’s a non-issue. The Puma issue sucks if you do have an impacted ARRIS modem so the WRT32X will be of little value if you have one of those modems.
Yes you could limp your connection along if you not a gamer or don’t use VoIP but once we switched to over to VoIP the Puma issue became obvious. I dumped the ARRIS 1604 for the SB6183 and what a difference with VoIP. I would think Puma "kills" the gamers as well, no pun intended. Just something for cable users to be on the look out for....

its just about the fact that you're paying for 66 lines of shell script which are doing some qos which is possible already with current solutions and for sure you can use the WRT32X firmware on a WRT3200ACM without any issues. the only installation block is that the flash layout is different _________________ "So you tried to use the computer and it started smoking? is someone able to provide me a serial log of a wrt32x booting the original firmware? _________________ "So you tried to use the computer and it started smoking? Sounds like a Mac to me.." - Louis Rossmann https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eL_5YDRWqGE&t=60s
Log from WRT3200ACM crossflashed to latest WRT32X firmware with WRT32X U-boot installed and enviroment reset to WRT32X default, except silent=1 as then there is no serial output.

BrainSlayer, could we check out the DD-WRT firmware for WRT32X if you have it compiled?
i extracted the firmware and reviewed the sources. i havent found any priorisation code. i just have found that the wifi firmware is slighly different. but if there is any change in it. its very small. i included it already in my internal builds. i attached this fw here. give it a try
Here's the 5Ghz Ch149 Speed Test...

LinkSys FW WiFi is a solid 100/10 at 5Ghz. ch.149
Got this weird cyclic rate change during upload (attached) Did not see this on r33375
______________
ISP rate is 100/10
Win 10
Linksys WRT3200ACM - r33393

@BrainSlayer, while we have you on the topic of QoS, can you please fix the QoS in current builds? Tried using HTB/ SFQ, the downlink bandwidth is reduced to 10% of the specified value. If I specify 4Mbps for interface priority, I get 400 Kbps throughput.

Since they let the cat out of the bag posting all their source code. Could the killer prioritization be added to the 3200acm version of dd-wrt. With a check box to turn it on or off. Sure i know probably less than 1% of 3200 owners have killer ethernet ports in their pc’s. Just thought it would be cool and thinking outloud.

Thanks for your continued work! I just sent a small donation to help your efforts. It's not much, but glad to help! _________________ NETGEAR R9000 DD-WRT v3.0-r45192 std (12/29/20) (ROUTER)
