Without SFE, nothing lower than R7000. With SFE feature on, R6400, 6250. I prefer Netgear line up since it's way easier to flash to and from ddwrt. _________________ R6400v2 (boardID:30) - Kong 36480 running since 03/09/18 - (AP - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R7800 - BS 31924 running since 05/26/17 - (AP - OpenVPN Client - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R7000 - BS 30771 running since 12/16/16 - (AP - NAS - FTP - SMB - OpenVPN Server - Transmission - DDNS - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R6250 - BS 29193 running since 03/20/16 - (AP - NAS - FTP - SMB - DNSMasq - AdBlocking)
naja diese antwort stimmt so nicht, +400mbit wan->lan bringen auch viele ältere modelle -...
siehe hier , allerdings sind nicht alle wlan router aus der auflistung dd-wrt fähig.
You DO realise that those metrics are without ddwrt firmware right?
C9 is exactly the same as R7000 and will NEVER get to 900Mbps, not even with SFE probably. So your answer is misleading completely. _________________ R6400v2 (boardID:30) - Kong 36480 running since 03/09/18 - (AP - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R7800 - BS 31924 running since 05/26/17 - (AP - OpenVPN Client - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R7000 - BS 30771 running since 12/16/16 - (AP - NAS - FTP - SMB - OpenVPN Server - Transmission - DDNS - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R6250 - BS 29193 running since 03/20/16 - (AP - NAS - FTP - SMB - DNSMasq - AdBlocking)
ja, das sind messungen mit der original firmware - aber es ging hier um +400mbps, das schaffen die gigabit geräte mit dd-wrt locker , die mit der original firmware über 900mbps schaffen ...
and to prove my point just read this posting by another user, surprisingly he did manage to archive +800 mbps lan>WAN Speed with the TP-Link C9 with dd-wrt :

but you probably just forgot that, you posted also a few times in that topic
Okay let me develop my previous answer for you.
With SFE off, NONE of those will get to 400Mbits, except C9.
With SFE on, let's say they get close to the numbers in the table you gave, so listing only the ones above 400 we get:
C9, C8, C7, C5, C2, WDR4300 and 3600
C9 is a pain in the a$$ to get it go back to stock, sometimes method work, sometimes it doesn't.
C8 you can't go back to stock.
C7, this is Atheros I don't think there's a problem with this one.
C2, not supported.
C5 only v1 is supported, which by now you haven't got many chances to get one.
WDR series, those are good too if I recall correctly for LAN only.
So yeah very nice task for the poor guy to extract all the info. Cheers. _________________ R6400v2 (boardID:30) - Kong 36480 running since 03/09/18 - (AP - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R7800 - BS 31924 running since 05/26/17 - (AP - OpenVPN Client - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R7000 - BS 30771 running since 12/16/16 - (AP - NAS - FTP - SMB - OpenVPN Server - Transmission - DDNS - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R6250 - BS 29193 running since 03/20/16 - (AP - NAS - FTP - SMB - DNSMasq - AdBlocking)
why so bitter? and why going back to stock at all?
if the device is serving the purpose ? exept for the c8 , the other devices a relative easy to revive with stock firmware either with tftp recovery or serial interface ...
the possibility to aquire any of the mentioned devices might be a bit different in your location, but here in germany all these devices you mentioned are easy to get 2nd hand for small money from a private seller or as a refurbished device from a company with 1 year warranty.
with little luck you can get even the c9 or a almost equivalent device like Asus RT-AC56U/AC68U for as low 20~40€ from private seller on german ebay classfied ads or just regular ebay or amazon. add another 10~20€ for refurbished devices from company sellers..
so what was your point again apart from making noise?
I'm also in Germany so I know about the availability.
Quite smart to buy a router knowing that you will lock yourself on a custom firmware, never thought about willing to try other custom ones or selling the router which most people would maybe want the original firmware?
And I think that giving a list of 20 routers where only 2 or 3 of them makes sense ...well that would be perfect definition of vague information and noise _________________ R6400v2 (boardID:30) - Kong 36480 running since 03/09/18 - (AP - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R7800 - BS 31924 running since 05/26/17 - (AP - OpenVPN Client - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R7000 - BS 30771 running since 12/16/16 - (AP - NAS - FTP - SMB - OpenVPN Server - Transmission - DDNS - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R6250 - BS 29193 running since 03/20/16 - (AP - NAS - FTP - SMB - DNSMasq - AdBlocking)
the original question of this discussion was about a router which is capable of +400mbps wan>lan speed for a tight budget ...
and i think the options have been all explained.
of course one can burn his money with a brandnew Netgear R7000 device , as you suggested.
I just tried to explain that there are much lower priced machines available , which can process +400mbps lan<wan traffic.
