please confirm this is the right way the wires should be connected : see picture.
I made sure putty logs all output from the serial connection to file.
If you are getting valid output, and can type into the console, then it's connected properly. Smile

took me forever to get the right driver installed in bloody windows (7) . Turns out with the newer cables the prolific drivers do not work , the give you a yellow marker in devicemanager and do not assign a com port.
Almost gave up but finally figured uot you need silab-drivers:

here is the output :

If that means yo have no output then switch the black and the green, the black is Ground.

If that does not work switch white and green, keep the black on the G

missed the output my bad.

Send a PM (Personal Message) to Kong with the output and ask him how you can help getting a working build.

Kong is on the second page of this thread

Job well done kudos to you

Uhm guys... re-reading the posts there is an answer from Kong itself saying that they NEED a unit because of the differences so it's useless to bug Kong with the serial output. (I am just assuming from what I read in the thread).
I found this R6400v2 but it's in the US. "Good thing" is that it's an auction and at the end could cost us less than a new one (even with the expensive shipping).
So... please let's start collecting money and buy this device to send it to ddwrt.
Who is willing to organise this?
I could do that, if there's enough people that want to do this and we reach what's needed to buy the item I can arrange the purchase and ship it directly to ddwrt.
If anyone finds another R6400v2 on ebay or whatever please tell me. The problem is that most people don't notice that there's on the package one place (the side) where it says AC1750 Smart WiFi Router (R6400v2) and it says R6400 in all the other places so they are all listed as R6400 :/

So whomever wants to donate please PM me and I'll give you my PayPal address. I promise I will give you back the money if the bidding doesn't succeed. I'll set the limit I bid to what people + me donate.

Thank you @bigjohn for the suggestion: I created a PayPal pool https://paypal.me/pools/c/83FvjfBXDE
Target is the last router I posted from ebay, it's in Germany so shipment is cheap. I'll be traveling to Italy so I can't look for other offers so it would be nice if someone finds more to post them so we have more options.
