I have to start by self-incriminating myself - I'm new to DD-WRT and in the past I've just used my provider WiFi router because it worked and I didn't care beyond that. I decided to try to set up a better home network situation so I got a VPN service and bought a WRT3200ACM to put DD-WRT on it and put my house behind a VPN. Until now I haven't really worked on wireless networks so I'm not familiar with hardware/platforms, if it's not a Cisco or Brocade I'm pretty useless so trying to use the DD-WRT CLI has been making me crazy. I've had some issues that I can't identify and before I chalk it up to a bad refurb box (I'm cheap and I have 2 young kids) I was hoping someone could confirm/deny my suspicions that this is a bad router.
Since flashing DD-WRT my WiFi randomly drops and requires a router reboot to restore, and it seems like it picks/chooses devices it won't allow to connect(I've had issues with 2 laptops and an Echo DOT that just wouldn't connect without a router reboot). My logs are also getting spammed by an entry I can't identify, but at least I know it's Amazon related (according to ARIN). Another annoying issue but not a deal-breaker... NTP is up but my system logs are +4hrs ahead of the system time.
I believe this is the error occurring when WiFI dropped out (ath0/ath1 disabled):
Apr 19 23:50:38 Router-01 daemon.info hostapd: ath2: STA 4c:ef:c0:b9:b8:5e IEEE 802.11: disassociated
This is the error spamming my logs:
Apr 20 00:33:36 Router-01 kern.warn kernel: [ 2662.585129] ACCEPT IN=eth0 OUT= MAC=60:38:e0:b2:aa:99:3c:94:d5:1d:af:c2:08:00 SRC=54.228.206.246 DST=192.168.1.1 LEN=60 TOS=0x08 PREC=0x20 TTL=42 ID=47000 DF PROTO=TCP SPT=44553 DPT=22 SEQ=3018288680 ACK=0 WINDOW=14600 RES=0x
Just a little info that may or may not help; I'm on FIOS (no coax), I've tried just about every release available from Feb2018 forward, the VPN service is off right now,
Any help figuring out what these errors are and whether it looks like it might be related to a faulty router would be much appreciated... If I'm an idiot, please tell me why so I can be less of an idiot. I'd really rather this just be something dumb I've done or something I should be doing that I'm not doing so I don't have to mess with returning it. |

Are you saying you are running only ATH2 with the (ATH0, ATH1 disabled)? Or, is it dropping when you also use ATH0 and ATH1?
1. Don't use ATH2 (It is meant for radar detection for DFS channels, is a Blue Tooth/WiFi chip, and is only a 1x1 radio anyway)
2. If I read it right 54.228.206.246 (or someone pretending to be them), is trying to connect to port 22 (SSH) on the router, and if ACK=0 the router did not acknowledge the request (Meaning it dropped the packet).
3. Read a lot on the 3200ACM, as I've only been using it as a router/gateway (no wireless enabled) for quite a while, other than using ATH0 for DFS channels at times. I do read a lot, and it seems to be a lot better than it used to be.
4. You've probably already done some reading on it, but always read stickies/links in my signature. _________________ Tutorial for flashing WRT series
