I flashed my Netgear R6900v2 with recent versions of beta firmware. While I found the firmware to be stable overall, including VPN server, I found the wifi performance to be erratic at best. I had trouble getting reliable connections from multiple PCs. And when I was able to connect, the performance was just terrible. I was getting tens of ms, sometimes hundreds of ms and timeouts in ping. Basically wifi was not usable. I spent countless hours tweaking the wifi settings to no avail. FWIW, the firmware detected the model of the router as R6800.
I reverted back to stock firmware. And now I'm getting stable, blazing fast wfi performance.
Does anyone have good experience with wifi running dd-wrt on this model? If yes, what version of firmware are you using?
