Hello!
When we upgraded to G.Fast, I replaced my AC68U with an 88; what I did not know is that it would be multiple steps back in terms of functionality. I'm trying to flash DD-WRT onto my device, but I've hit a few snags:

* The device won't enter recovery mode.
* It hasn't had a firmware update since 2019, unlike the RT-AC88U.
* It has a different format for its firmware files (.w instead of .fx).
* There seems to be a second revision of the hardware that I hadn't looked into.

That makes me a bit concerned -- does it mean that my device is entirely unsupported?

Mod edit: changed topic to hopefully prevent another inquiry -kp69

The DSL-AC88U is not supported by DDWRT.

Your AC68u should get the job done, with harware aceleration enabled (CTF&FA) it can give you around 900 Mb/s.

Does DSL-AC88U support Virtual Access Point, AP Isolation and Net Isolation (Guest Wifi)?

You could have kept the Asus RT-AC68U as just the internet gateway running DD-WRT, using DSL-AC88U as the Wifi network!

Doubtful, outside of choosing a different modem which would've left the RT-AC68U as previously configured, mostly.

I didn't notice the G.Fast thing. Sorry... Smile
