hi there,

I set up a wireless connection recently.
I have a dell inspiron 8600(WINDOWS XP PRO) with the integrated Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 LAN 3A Mini-PCI Adapter and a wrtg54L linksys router with dd-wrt firmware in place and settings are based on the dd-wrt howto's. i am really pissed off with my wireless setup, my dell disconnects and reconnects every 9 minutes, i don't have a clue whats going on. i researched the web but didn't find anything that helped me.
i have upgraded the intel drivers as well. and dd-wrt version is : standard DD-WRT v23 SP2.

since last month, all i am doing is disabled my wireless and enabled the lan and using the wired router connection and ofcourse this works just fine. but i am not able to use the wireless feature, it disconnects every 9 minutes and sometimes just disconnects and never connects upon refresh and then i have to do a system restart.

can you experts please help me with this one, please please tell me if there are any known compatibility issues with dell inspiron 8600 with Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 LAN 3A Mini-PCI Adapter & wrtg54L or am i missing any key settings in the dd-wrt firmware.

please reply asap.

thanks much in advance,

Do you have a wireless phone nearby?
My sister had the same problem until I changed the frequency of her router.

sash, whats ur problem, u asshole. there's no reason to be rude. your solution sucks, i don't want to upgrade from my stable ddwrt to a rel candidate. and ddwrt is not the problem, i guess you didn't understand my question. its more of an intel chipset issue.
i need a solution that i could try, unlike yours. see redhawk's reply in one of the posts and that made absolute sense and i did try his solution but unfortunately didn't work for me. anyways relax.

Don't know if you got your problem solved but I've got the same problem.. I just read a post else where (where people aren't so rude) that the person said the solution was in ACK timing in the wireless settings.. he didn't elaborate unfortunatuly but I"m going to try it myself and I"ll re-post here to let you know how it werks.. Oh and by the way Sash.. I know you think you're mr end all be all of everything.. get over yourself.. there's alot better people out there than you who don't need to be stroked to get help.. get over yourself.. oh and I fully expect you to delete the post cuz that's just the way folks like that are.. <: -)
