Hi guys have to start a new topic Confused

I have a x86 machine setup to service ~50 PCs (max) everyday. Sometimes, I find that I am suddenly unable to access the router remotely both by SSh and http, which gives me great stress Shocked however, it seems that the internet is still working fine from it. I have it set to reboot itself everyday at 8am, at which point it is accessible again.

It may or may not be related, but I also have it setup to report to odmon.com and as you can see it shows some weird spikes everyday which is not even physically possible on my line (ADSL1). It is a weekly graph.

Please help!

PS. this is actually not the only problem I have, the load average shoots up to 1.00 (usually 0.00) sometimes, which a reboot also solves. Not sure if it is related.

Yeap, latest version available in the download section installed.

Also, new update!

Both http and SSh are now unavailable even with a hard reboot, but internet still works. This happened when I changed the PPPoE long/password remotely (causing me great stress again :S)

I haven't had the time to look at it so I left it as is. I'm going to replace the HDD with my new CF card later to see if it helps at all....

Surely someone must've had troubles with the interfaces as well? or is it just me.

Hey there,

Sorry it's so late, I haven't had a chance to go to the site lately. SSH and http still doesn't work remotely, but telnet works inside the LAN;

Well, I'm not sure that this will help, but I, too, experience frequently that the httpd daemon is no longer running. Fortunately, until now ssh was always still active, so I could get the ps output:

Quote:
PID USER VSZ STAT COMMAND
1 root 1176 S /sbin/init noinitrd
2 root 0 SW [keventd]
3 root 0 RWN [ksoftirqd_CPU0]
4 root 0 SW [kswapd]
5 root 0 SW [bdflush]
6 root 0 SW [kupdated]
11 root 0 SW [mtdblockd]
15 root 1188 S /sbin/watchdog
121 root 2276 S httpd -S
17816 root 1168 S resetbutton
17856 root 828 S dnsmasq --conf-file=/tmp/dnsmasq.conf
18098 root 704 S cron
18103 root 1536 S dropbear -b /tmp/loginprompt -r /tmp/root/.ssh/ssh_ho
18110 root 1172 S ttraff
18296 root 1168 S process_monitor
18315 root 712 S inadyn --input_file /tmp/ddns/inadyn.conf
18673 root 1168 S /sbin/wland
18676 root 700 S udhcpc -i eth1 -p /var/run/udhcpc.pid -s /tmp/udhcpc
2814 root 1596 S dropbear -b /tmp/loginprompt -r /tmp/root/.ssh/ssh_ho
2815 root 1184 S -sh
2817 root 1168 R ps

How can I restart the httpd daemon? At the moment I reboot the router, but this is not really the Linux way ;-)

Btw. I am using 24sp1 on a broadcom based hardware

Yeah, i've also had problems with the httpd-deamon crashing. I found a solution to my problem. However, it sounds like your problem is different than mine.

You can check my thread here if you like:
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=35670

The solution to my problem was rather simple. If you wanna try it use the latest solution provided in my thread. But as i said i think your problem is different.

Thanks, I'll try this next time the daemon crashes. On average it seems to take a couple of days for that...

Btw. does anybody know where the startup sequence is located? I was looking for something like a rcS.d, but haven't found anything.

Just a little bump here...

Thought I'd be smart and just save the new account details via the WebGUI, then reboot it via SSH to see if it makes any difference.

It didn't, after the reboot I'm once again unable to access the router via WebGUI or SSH, while the internet on that side still works fine with the new account details.

I'm unable to try the pre-SP2 due to the problems noted in the other thread Sad
