Hello all, this is my first dd-wrt forum post.
I want to make a proxy/webfilter using dd-wrt x86 on virtualbox and squid on a winXP PC.
Tested ddwrt X86 on VirtualBox.
Image used = BrainSlayer-V24-preSP201-16-10-r13637x86dd-wrt_public_vga.image
Looks powerfull & promessing...
But every reboot settings/password are lost.
What am i missing here?
Do i need a valid license. If so how, where to handle this.

Hi
I am in the same situation. I am running the x86 version within VMWare workstation. I can access the web interface. I can SSH into the system, however if I change the password or other settings, it says it has saved. After I reboot the default settings are back. Any ideas on how can I resolve this?
I found I was having the same problem using the .image files converted to for use with Virtual box.
The fix I found was to find an older build of the VMware harddrve and load that. Then I was able to save settings.
This new file boots perfect but you’ll also have to increase the dynamical size of the vdi or it is stuck at a statical 11 MB or so.
At that size it isn't writable because the system expects to write at sectors that don't exists so make sure you resize the dynamic size also to something like at least 250 MB.
I used CloneVDI to do this but it should also be possible with an extra command line option for vboxmanage (which I'm currently unaware of).
