The Watchguard Firebox II and III are x86-based network appliances. They feature, among other things, a front panel with programmable LEDs.

The main Firebox thread of discussion for DD-WRT is here:

The DD-WRT wiki page is here:

This thread is specifically for the front panel LED daemon. Now that the code has gained a bit of maturity, I thought it deserved its own thread for a bit more visibility, so here it is.

So, I figured I would dust off my rusty C skills and tackle the challenge of making a daemon to gather the necessary values from the OS and use them to update the front panel LEDs. The LEDs display the CPU LOAD, the overall network traffic, custom firewall events as well as basic status. The code is open and shared here:

The download section has a number of pre-compiled binaries available. It is meant to compile and run under Linux and FreeBSD. For Linux, both uClibc and (e)glibc are supported.

Enjoy!

I have a Firebox III with fbled auto-booting at startup. I'm subscribing to this thread for future reference.

It seems for some reason, the entire thread on the Firebox was deleted!
