Hello:

I'm using DD-WRT x86 in conjunction with Hyper-V. I'm traveling quite frequently, and I like to isolate my VMs. As such, I like the DD-WRT solution.

My solution, which I found on the Internet, involves using two virtual NICs. It works quite well.

1.) However, how can I tell what NIC is the WAN port and what NIC is the on the LAN? I ask this because I don't want DD-WRT to be assigning IP addresses to machines that are not on my host machine.

2.) Additionally, can I PERMANENTLY instruct DD-WRT to assign a MAC address to ALWAYS be the WAN port? I'm not a fan of this being done automatically.

If you run

Code:
nvram show | grep wan_hwaddr

It will display the mac of the WAN interface. Then you should be able to corelate what public interface it is going out of.
