I got rid of my Verizon FiOS and currently only use my laptop connected to my cellphone via WiFi Hot Spot Tethering when I need to research something on the net.

I'm wondering if it is possible to install dd-wrt in my linux laptop's vmware player. Then share this laptops connection to the switch that connects my destop machines and printer via ethernet cabling. It seems like it might be doable but I do not see people talking about it here on the x86 forums. I would like to know if this is possible and even better a pointer to somebody's notes that has already done it.

Doable, yes. Best way of doing this? Not necessarily.

Windows can do this by itself, and so can do all modern OSs. So, I would look at that first.

Hmmm. I see there are things like ICS on Windows 7. Still looking for a solution on Mint. So many google results are not relevant it is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Thanks! Now that's something I can get my teeth into. I'll give it a try this weekend!
