Router: Netgear R6300V2
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r32170M kongac (06/03/17)
Previous: 31980M
Kernel: Linux 4.4.70 #332 SMP Sat Jun 3 11:22:27 CEST 2017 armv7l
Status: OK
Reset: YES (nvram erase was done before and after)
Errors: After 3 days (June 6th) reboots 2 times a day

Normal setup, script to wake on lan for Plex and port forwarding setup for both.
This and previous doing the same thing. Just reboots and back in a few minutes or front Netgear lights blink on and off 3 to 4 times a day now. Did a complete Netgear firmware and then the latest dd-wrt kongac ver (r32170M) entered all manually. All was good for 3 days then back to rebooting on its own.
Note: I have 4 r6300v2 routers that i change when newer firware is out so no matter which unit same results.

Kong has a June 11 release of build 32170M that I'm using (over 44 hours) now. I too had problems with the June 3 TEST build 32170M but within 3 hours.

To be sure check the md5 hash. Actually the latest 06/11 build is not in TEST but at the root folder, which includes factory wifi pw reset and auto-channel fix.

I have downloaded all 32170 Builds, June 3, 10 & 11 all 3 have different checksums.

The 3rd and 10th were giving me problems while the 11th has been stable so far.

Status: Working
Reset: No, used "ddup --flash-latest"
Previous: DD-WRT v3.0-r31980M kongac (05/11/17)
Errors: Not really. Few observations.

CPU Clock: 1200 MHz

FYI, for kicks, I manually updated to DD-WRT v3.0-r32170M kongac (06/11/17) (checked md5 on the download) and it broke wifi (unstable or not broadcasting one or more SSID, SSIDs randomly disappear and appear again). The reboot after "update" got stuck in a weird state where the lights on the R8000 were on, but not really on (ethernet indicators were bright and normal). Power cycled by unplugging the router. Loaded properly, but terribly sluggish and those wifi problems. Downgraded back to DD-WRT v3.0-r32170M kongac (06/03/17) and continued to have issues. Uploaded a backup, still issues. Reset the router and uploaded a backup. Now stable again.

Just letting you know: Something strange about that 06/11/17 release.

Sounds like a bad flash. Try download and flashing directly via telnet (cd /tmp, wget..., write... linux, erase nvram, reboot)

All of these builds are exactly the same the only difference is, a few lines in the code that reads and sets the burned in wifi pass.

I have seen your issue a few times after flashing, in which case a simple button power off/on does the trick.

Thanks, jerrytouille! I did that and it works fine now. Well, except I forgot to "erase nvram" before rebooting, but it still works fine now.

Kong, thanks! It's reassuring to know that I wasn't just imagining things. In the future, I'll just stick with your ddup update process. Thanks again for your hard work. Please check your PM from a few days ago.

I do notice that a 'erase nvram && reboot' doesn't clear WiFi passwords.

'erase nvram' only clears your custom settings to reset to default firmware settings, which in this latest Kong build -the default firmware wifi password is the factory wifi pw that came with your router.

Try power cycle the router (turn on/off). If still not work reset to default settings or erase nvram, then power cycle.

Fyi you can also check the MD5 hash for the wget file after download, via telnet using:

md5sum <filename> or md5 <filename>
