I've just got my R8000P, looking forward to getting DD-WRT on to it. Hopefully they're working on it already, or soon.

In the meantime, I'll test the site block and watch the stability.

these next-gen broadcom chipsets are likely to appear in devices from most manufacturers soon. third-party firmware support would be fantastic.

edit - not true. EA9300 has quad-core bcm4908

Big problem for me. Has the Linksys name on it. After fighting with wrt3200 for almost 2 years and still crap, I would not think of purchasing a Linksys product no matter the glowing reviews.
Replaced the wrt3200 with a Netgear r8000 running Kong's latest. Must better experience.

This is finally fixed in latest firmware

https://kb.netgear.com/000053889/R8000P-Firmware-Version-1-3-0-10

The VPN stability is way better after flashing latest firmware. Still not configurable anyhow through the webGUI but probably using some terminal-client through SSH is the way to go for now!!

Thanks everyone

This thing is a nightmare for me. Constant disconnects. The router would lockup anytime I tried to configure the router and save the settings. It would vanish from the network and I could not login to it. I tend to think it is buggy firmwares. Maybe dd-wrt could cure this.

You can for sure....by giving a donation to Brainslayer or Kong.$$$
They surely need money for buying a device to build DD-WRT on.
I'm sure it's very easy to give them donations through this forum.
Damn Netgear for not supplying either of those Magic developers!!!!

According to Kong, Brainslayer does have the r8000p in house. Just needs to get around to a build.
