I have a Linksys WRT610N v1 that I wanted to install DD-WRT onto but there are two issues:

1) the link on wiki page (https://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linksys_WRT610N) to the hardware-specific build that is needed (according to the wiki) for the initial flash does not work.

2) in order to revert to the original firmware if I brick the device, I need a copy of the firmware. Unfortunately Linksys doesn't seem to have ever produced an update to firmware and the original firmware doesn't provide a method of backing itself up (just allows settings to be backed up).

Can anyone help with these issues?

Here is the correct link for the initial flash version mentioned in the Wiki (for the v1 model):

https://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2010/08-12-10-r14929/broadcom/dd-wrt.v24_mega_wrt610n.bin

As to Linksys stock firmware for the 610n, I honestly have no idea... I'm sure there is a copy out there on the internet somewhere (maybe call Linksys and see if they can provide it - they just may not put it on their website anymore because of how old it is).

I still have and use a 610n v1 myself (with DD-WRT) - works great for media streaming. Smile

EDIT: Here is a link to stock Linksys firmware from right on this site (no idea if it's the latest or not):

https://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=649080&sid=b977000f954659554561e4bcfb484578#649080

EDIT2: Actually, there are later versions in that thread, including a post with links to Linksys-hosted versions of the firmware (start at the end of the thread and work backwards).

Thanks for the help. The wiki link for the wrt610n has an extra "/betas" in it. Hopefully someone with an account can fix it.

The later posts of the stock firmware seem to be duplicates. Linksys doesn't seem to have ever updated the firmware since its initial release.

EDIT: actually there seem to be some even older versions listed. However the links are all broken.

The ftp site is having issues serving files atm. The listed alternative location is working though:

Alternately use https://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/ in place of ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/
I'm fixing the ftp links. Note: the old 'eko' builds are gone (as the wiki already states), but the old links remain for history and archive.org purposes. Thanks @jtrosky for the OEM f/w link; also added to the wiki.
