Hello, my router has been giving many issues for a while now when it comes to Wi-Fi and connection. Throughout the day, it will sometimes mostly act normal, yielding normal results, however, randomly throughout the day, connection will slow to a crawl, until it eventually stops all together until I unplug the router and plug it back in, which only sometimes fixes the issue until it happens again.

Info:
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r44715 std (11/03/20)

Router Name DD-WRT
Router Model Netgear R8000

Wireless Mode AP

Wireless Network Mode N-Only (5 GHz)

Wireless Channel Auto

Channel Width Wide HT40 (40 MHz)

Extension Channel lower

If I could get any help with this or advice it would be greatly appreciated
Thanks,
Nate

I will move this thread to the appropriate forum.

See the forum guidelines with helpful pointers about how to research your router, where and what firmware to download, where and how to post and many other helpful tips:

You are running an outdated build again see the forum guidelines, current build is 54475.

Your wireless settings are suboptimal see " BCM best wifi settings" a sticky (first few threads) in this forum.

I think R8000 als has an experimental build which might work better (or not)

1st you are running very old and outdated build...update to the last, after update reset and manually reconfigure...do not use the save file from different builds/firmware numbers...
https://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2023/

2nd Using auto channels is not recommended...choose a valid 5Ghz channels

try those 2 and see what's happening... Cool
