I have these two Linksys devices, and my understanding is that they are capable of transmitting a dedicated Wifi and receive it. They are both found in the database.
Linksys WAP54 v3
Linksys WRT54GS v4
Any advice, help, or instructions? Which one should be close to the internet source, and which one should be close to the designated device?

Start with the reading the forum guidelines with helpful pointers about how to research your router, where and what firmware to download, where and how to post and many other helpful tips:

My understanding is the WRT54GS goes to the remote computer and the WAP54G goes to the the internet. So, I don't have to really change the WAP54G, but the WRT54GS needs firmware.
Qustions:
Do the Access point and Wireless Router both need to have same or different IPs?
Do they both need the same MAC address?
Any particular other settings I should use?
Here's some dots to connect for you. Please consider using the current release, especially if you have skills to de-brick if things go awry. You may be able to use the WAP54G as a station for the single client (or use an unmanaged switch for multiple wired clients).

WRT54Gs is a router. There is a port on the back called "Internet" that connects to the internet gateway.
The WAP54G is a wireless access point. pick a spot to set it up in and run a cable from it going back to any of the lan ports on your router.
I would answer those questions, but I'm going to link you to this. Sorry, but you need to go back and study the basics of networking.

Which file did you flash? Apparently, there has been no feedback on these devices for some time:
Quote:
WARNING - Use only Micro builds on the WAP54G units. The micro_special_generic.bin (e.g. 36247) has been indicated to work on the v1.x, but is unknown on the v2.0 and v3.x (which can use e.g. 14929 or 36247.)
Also, did you ensure that you added the startup script in the wiki?
Code:
nvram set et0macaddr=00:11:22:33:44:55 (use the actual MAC address from the device label here)
nvram set WAPver=3
nvram commit
Probably a tricky device to TFTP stock firmware back onto the device if Wiki advises pin short. Outside of that, serial recovery may be required. _________________ "The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

Yes, setting a 192.168.1.1/0 is definitely bad. Doing a 30/30/30 - hard reset may have been overkill (and may have caused issues?) - or, you may not have done it exactly right, but a regular reset should've been enough. Press and hold reset button while powered up for ~10 seconds and release and see if it comes back. If it doesn't come back up, you may have to use serial or TFTP to recover from a bad flash. Pin short method is extreme scenario.

tftp upgrade using the both firmware showing successful. I have to reboot access point every time during (as per instructions) but still unable to view page or log in.
CMD "arp -a" shows correct MAC address that's dynamic, and other show IPs shown are static.
Well, if you didn't follow the device wiki and use the correct file and use the commands, then the reset button may be broken. _________________ "The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
