I used to do that on openwrt just fine. How to do that in dd-wrt?
Yes it's a DSL-AC68U, it works with RT-AC68U dd-wrt firmware file. Same hardware anyway. I use this router on openwrt just fine.

simply configure another port as the WAN port?

https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=1294447#1294447

In the example, 2 WAN ports are configured but you can simply move the real WAN port from VLAN2 to VLAN1

WAN = LAN
Port1 = WAN
Port2 = LAN
Port3 = LAN
Port4 = LAN

Are you sure your ASUS DSL-AC68U is supported by OpenWRT?
Only the non-DSL ASUS RT-AC68U shows up in the OpenWRT TOH.

At least DSL routers are not supported by DDWRT Sad

That sounds too complicated. I use VLAN ID 35, so with VLAN ID 35 there, I tick the WAN,CPUPORT, and LAN4. Am I right?

No, first of all, your router is not supported - no devices with an integrated modem are supported

secondly... you create a VLAN35, for VLAN35 you select CPU-Port + Port4, Port4 must also be tagged
Finally, VLAN35 must be selected in the "networking" tab under "WAN port assignment".

Well this is an exception. It works because they are identical twins. Okay it works now, thanks for help. The thing is DSL port is broken, so I use this as a router instead of selling it. ASUS DSL-AC68U works with DD-WRT. I did it like this:

Ok I did it too. Thanks. How to mark this topic as solved?

Mod note / edit 01.01.2024: It's been said several times in several places that this device is not (officially) supported. That being said, we cannot assume any responsibility here to provide support for unofficial means. Topic is now locked with the following notes added:

This device *can* be flashed with DD-WRT for RT-AC68U at your own discretion and risk, but this is unofficial support, so Caveat Emptor applies.
