Status
WORK IN PROGRESS.
This device is still a work in progress. Version 2 is in the queue to be released first. The original version may not be able to run DD-WRT. There are NO kernel sources available for the RTL8196BU. The current assumption is that the RTL8196C code _MAY_ run on it with slight modifications.--Conjur 16:23, 18 January 2012 (CET)

Development Recovery
RB-1132v2 Recovery Procedure (100% Success rate, as long as the first 0x8000 of the flash has not been manipulated)
- extract linux.bin and root.bin from RB-1132v2_EN_1.0.39.bin:
- dd if=RB-1132v2_EN_1.0.39.bin of=root.bin ibs=1 skip=1103206 count=5656594
- dd if=RB-1132v2_EN_1.0.39.bin of=linux.bin ibs=1 skip=41300 count=1061906
- configure your ip to 192.168.1.10 (anything but .6)
- connect an ethernet cable from your computer to the "LAN" port of the device
- Hold the reset button on the device while powering it up; within 2-3 seconds, the "Power", "Status", and "LAN" Lights should illuminate
- With a TFTP Client, in BINARY Mode; connect to 192.168.1.6, and put root.bin
- Wait approximately 2-3 minutes for the write to complete (There is no harm if your too early, you will just get a tftp timeout it the device isn't ready yet)
- In the TFTP Client, PUT the 2nd file, linux.bin.
- After recieving linux.bin, and burning it to the flash, the device will reboot automatically, and will be reverted to the factory settings.
If this process does not work; you will need a flash burner compatible with the MXIC24L6445E, or $30 to buy a new device. Conjur 16:46, 18 January 2012 (CET)
